The Review:
With wings, all roads lead to West Allis, or so it seems. So many great wing joints in West Allis, but there is always room for more. I had heard talk of Flappers Bar, a spot I'd been once many years ago, but it seemed due for another visit so we could give their wings a shot!
So, starting with the important part, wings are not on the regular menu. They are only served on Sundays, so don't stroll in on a Thursday looking for wings. While it's a bit odd to limit wings to one day a week, they make up for it by only charging $0.50 per wing, which is a stellar deal with today's wing prices. As always, prices/availability of menu items/prices and/or specials are subject to change at the sole discretion of the bar without the knowledge of Milwaukeewings.com and may not be updated accordingly.
The wings are fried and then finished on the grill, which gives them a nice char and a light smoky flavor. Most of them were impressively meaty, though a few leaned toward the fatty side. Still, the chicken itself was flavorful and cooked well, with that grill finish adding something extra.
For the sauces, only 3 options: Garlic Buffalo, Lemon Pepper, and Bacon BBQ. Notes as below:
Garlic Buffalo - The standout flavor was easily the Garlic Buffalo in my opinion. It had a good balance of vinegar and pepper, with just enough garlic to make it stand out. It wasn’t overly spicy, just well-rounded and satisfying.
Bacon BBQ - This one came in second, bringing a sweet and smoky profile that paired nicely with the grilled chicken, though the bacon was more of a background note.
Lemon Pepper - disappointed in this one as it was a bit on the bland side, not much flavor on this one.

The MKE Wings Crew's Favorites:
Frank: Garlic Buffalo
Josh: Garlic Buffalo
Jen: Bacon BBQ
Amber: Garlic Buffalo
Conclusion:
Overall, Flappers’ wings are solid, especially for the price. The grill finish gives them a unique edge, and the Garlic Buffalo and Bacon Barbecue are worth trying. The limited Sunday-only availability and a weak third flavor keep this one just short of a certified recommendation, but if you’re looking for a cheap and satisfying plate of wings to go with the Packers game, Flappers is worth a visit.
