The Review:
Daniel’s Palace sits on familiar ground. Formerly Scott E’s Pub, and I think at least one other bar since then, this is a place I remember from years ago. Years ago I attempted to do a wing review at Scott E's... and it didn't go well, never even got to try the wings. So walking in this time, there was a little hesitation mixed in with curiosity. But I'm certainly not going to let the past impact my thoughts on this visit!
We stopped in on a Wednesday as it is wing night at Daniel’s Palace, $1 wings in orders of six. They also run a boneless special, which is $7 for 10 boneless wings. Normal menu price is $9 for 6 or $15 for 12. As always, prices/availability of menu items/prices and/or specials are subject to change at the sole discretion of the bar without the knowledge of Milwaukeewings.com and may not be updated accordingly.
The wings were decently sized, lightly breaded, and very crispy. Not huge, not tiny, but right in that comfortable middle ground. A dozen wings felt like the right amount for most of us. A few wings bordered on slightly too crispy, but overall the cook was solid and satisfying.
Daniel’s Palace offers a surprisingly large sauce lineup, including Buffalo, Firewise BBQ, Teriyaki, Honey Bourbon, Rachel’s Revenge, Daniel’s Duo, Scorpion Barbecue, Garlic Parmesan, Nashville Hot, Korean Pepper. Complimenting this sauce line up are several dry rubs: Cajun, Jalapeño, Cheddar Jalapeño, Buffalo, and Lemon Pepper. We didn’t get to everything, but we covered a decent spread. Tasting notes below:

Jalapeño Dry Rub - Unfortunately, the biggest miss of the night. Very little flavor beyond a little bit of heat. It tasted more like a plain wing with spice rather than a true jalapeño profile. Ranch helped, but I wouldn't get this one again (but I'd try that cheddar jalapeño)
Scorpion BBQ - Sweet barbecue with serious heat. Rated three peppers on their scale, but it packed more punch than expected. Not very smoky or savory, but if you like sweet heat, these deliver; possibly the spiciest BBQ sauce I've ever had.
Korean Pepper - Spicy with a subtle funky note reminiscent of gochujang, though less savory than many Korean-style sauces. Still enjoyable and nicely balanced.
Nashville Hot - A bit of an odd one. More of a generic peppery hot sauce than a true Nashville hot. It lacked the slight sweetness and depth that usually define the style. Not bad, just not quite on target.
Daniel’s Duo - I sampled this one on a French fry and this easily could have been my favorite had I ordered it. Sweet, savory, tangy, and well balanced. I'd definitely get this one on a return visit.
Buffalo - Classic and well executed. Buttery, vinegary, and exactly what you want from a traditional buffalo. It doesn’t try to reinvent anything, but it doesn’t need to. Molly and Amber really liked this one.

Overall
Daniel’s Palace lands just inside Certified Wing Joint territory. It’s a bit of a mixed bag, some sauces really worked while others fell flat. But, the ones we liked were good enough that we’d come back and explore more of the diverse sauce menu.
If you stop in for some wings, you can entertain yourself with plenty of TVs, dartboards, pool , and solid beer specials (including two-for-one High Life draughts on wing night!)
Not a must-visit wing destination, but a respectable neighborhood wing night spot with potential. With a few different sauce choices next time, Daniel’s Palace could easily move up a few notches in my wing rankings.
