The trendy ingredient in spicy foods today is undoubtedly the ghost chili. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart, this little pepper packs upwards of 1,000,000 Scoville Units. By comparison, a jalapeno is about 5,000 Scoville Units. I first heard of this pepper when watching Man v Food on the Travel Channel, and while terrified at the pain it would bring, I have been curious to try a buffalo wing with a Ghost Chili sauce. Well, the opportunity has come. A friend of mine was at Sussex Bowl of all places and found some wings on their menu called Death by Pepper, which, is made with the Ghost Chili. You have to love it when the menu has a disclaimer that releases the restaurant from any liability of incidents arising form eating something from the menu.
I must say, Sussex Bowl appears to have quite the interesting flavor list and I’m hoping to make it out to Sussex Bowl sometime in the early summer so I can get some wings at the alley and round of disc golf at the park across the street. But if I’m trying the Death by Pepper, I better make sure to get that round of disc golf in first!
